MINISTRY
PHILOSOPHY
We seek to
carry out the ministry of our church by providing a
variety of God-centered and person-centered opportunities
such as corporate worship, Bible-centered nurture in
small groups, biblically-based instruction and education,
Christian fellowship and outreach to the unbelieving. We
will carry out these ministries in a context of openness,
spiritual freedom, positive affirmation and encouragement
with a desire to foster strong personal faith and
Christ-centered individuals and families.
Mission
Statement
Biblical
Principles of the Church
There are some
general scriptural principles that guide the church of
Jesus Christ. These principles under gird the existence
of the church and provide direction for
ministry.
- Vibrant
Worship - Exalted God in worship. To worship the Lord
in the "splendor of His
Holiness." (Psalm
96:9)
- Effective
Evangelism - Communicating Christ to the
world. (Acts 1:8)
- Relational
Discipleship - Building up one another in
Christ. (Ephesians 4:12)
Meaningful Ministry - Meaningful opportunities to
share God's love. (Romans 12:4-8; James
1:27)
WORSHIP
Worship is an
exciting part of our corporate experience at First
Baptist. Worship is an active response to God whereby we
declare His worth. That simple definition indicates our
understanding of the nature of worship.
Worship begins
with God. He is the initiator. We worship in response to
the greatness and goodness of God.
Worship is
active. Worship is not a spectator sport. We invite you
to actively participate in our worship experience through
prayer, meditation, music, etc.
Our desire is
that each worship experience will be used by the Spirit
of God to bring each worshipper into a personal encounter
with a living and loving God.
The content and
flow of the service each week focuses on a particular
theme. That kind of worship is not only honoring to the
Lord but is enjoyable for us.

SMALL
GROUPS
"A small group
is a gathering of people whose intent is to share heart
to heart in the process of becoming
Christ-like."
We
believe...
that small groups play an integral and exciting role in
the lives of people. We are convinced that effective
ministry in the 21st Century means providing small group
opportunities for everyone.
The
purpose...
for small groups at First Baptist is to offer each person
the opportunity to continue to grow in their relationship
with Jesus Christ and establish meaningful relationships
with others.
Our
desire...
is that small groups will impact our community with the
love of Christ. Small groups provide a safe place for
people to grow in their relationship with God, others,
and the world.
