starting point

If you're looking for somewhere to connect, you've come to the right place.  Beyond our Sunday services, there are many opportunities to get plugged in on the hill.  You are invited to look around and check out any of the programs and groups here at First.  If we can serve you in any way, please let us know!

Sunday Services

Our Sunday services are a weekly gathering of people from all walks of life with the common goal of worshipping the Lord.  We try to build an environment where people are free to respond to the initiatives, beauty, and greatness of God.  Come and worship with us!

Community Hour

We have an hour between our two Sunday services that we set aside for growing in community.  Rooms throughout the church are filled with various ages and stages of people gathered to share life and grow in their walk with Christ. With classes for all ages, the Community Hour is a next step for many to get connected here at First B.

Wednesday Nights on the Hill

The Wednesday schedule is crammed with laughter, scripture, and relationships.  Wednesday nights on the hill are a great place for children, middle schoolers, and parents to get plugged in.

Sunday Classes During Community Hour

Serving ages two through senior adults, our Sunday school ministry is an exciting way  to meet God, connect with others, and experience the life-changing truths found in His Word--the Bible. The following classes meet during Sunday mornings during the community hour, 9:40 - 10:30am.  If you have any questions regarding our Sunday school ministry, please contact ministry leader, Scott Thompson at scott.thompson@nutechseed.com.

Old Testament Bible Class: Judges | Such a Great Salvation

Leader:  Jim Amelsberg

Location:  Conference Room

Judges is a book of colorful human characters that are so earthy, primitive and violent - in a word, so strange, that many of us modern Christians can scarcely stomach it. Yet, they are so interesting we will remember these characters for a lifetime.

My hope for the class is that we can see beyond these interesting "saviors" and be amazed at the lengths God will go, to save and love his people!

Before you leave this class you will begin to appreciate that you are one of those God can and will use for his Glory. You may be like Ehud, the left handed savior, or Deborah the woman honored above men, or Samson, a man of second chances. God is a God willing to get right into the mess of our lives and never give up. He is a God worthy of our full allegiance.

Come and enjoy the teaching, discussions and the good times being in the Word of God. Welcome!

New Testament Bible Class:  Revelation

Leader:  Jim McGuire

Location:  Fireside Room

The book of Revelation may well be the most complicated, confusing and controversial book in the entire Bible. After all, Martin Luther didn't think it belonged in the Bible and John Calvin refused to write a commentary on it.

And though we may never be able to fully master it, with a little study, we may be able to clear the fog enough to come to a basic understanding of this one and only book which promises a blessing on those who read it. If nothing else we will at least come away with the same assurance that Christians have come to know for centuries, that our future is secure in Jesus.

You are welcome to come and share in the conversation!

Parents With Young Children

Leaders:  Greg & Kristi Wirtjes

Location:  Room 190

We are group of parents with young children who set this time aside each Sunday to connect with each other and the Lord.  We want people to share, be encouraged, and draw closer to Jesus through Bible teaching and fellowship.  Each week we have the privilege of praying for one another and hearing about what the Lord is doing in each other's lives. We hope you'll find an atmosphere that encourages community.
