I'm glad you're here!

Thanks for taking the time to explore First Baptist Church. This website is simply a brief introduction to who we are and what we are about here on Highway 9. You can learn a few things about us by clicking through this site, but my hope is that you’ll consider joining us for one of our Sunday services.

If you’re trying to learn about First Baptist, I’d like to offer my offer my opinion...I love this church! I really do. My family and I are wild about the people here. We are surrounded by so many families who are really good at loving others. Jesus once said to “love your neighbor as yourself,” and I think the people here at First B took him seriously. The people here are fantastic!

I continually find myself in conversations or watching people in action that are overflowing with grace, generosity, and kindness. The handshakes are warm and smiles genuine. In all my affection for the people here, though, I want you to know we are not perfect. Pews of normal people fill the church who are wrestling with messy lives. In fact, let me be the first in line to say, “I’ve got issues!” There are broken relationships, messed up finances, and insecurities all around us. We try not to pretend as we take an honest look at our concerns about life and our questions about death. I would like to think that we’re a fairly normal group of people.

But right in the middle of ordinary lives, amongst the baggage and seemingly dull routine, there is a Beauty that has captured the hearts of many. A Thread of Grace weaves through our stories bringing to life and bringing together shattered hearts and wayward souls. Ordinary overcome by the Extraordinary. Lives transformed by Love.

This is First Baptist. We’re a group of ordinary people living in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I invite you to come and mingle with us a bit. Join us for worship. Check out our weekly activities. Observe. Ask questions.
