WELOME JOHNSONS!

We welcome Eric and Janet Johnson to our fellowship today. The Johnsons have been FBC-supported missionaries to Mexico for more than three decades and God has blessed their service. Today they will be in the sanctuary for everyone during the Sunday School hour from 10 - 10:45 am.

 

BALLOTS DUE TODAY

Election Ballots are due today. Please affirm those nominated with your vote and place in the box at the Information Desk. Come to our 144th Annual Meeting is Sunday, March 29 at 6 pm.

 

DEACON RECOMMENDATION FOR ELDERSHIP

With the Annual Meeting one week away, our Deacons are excited to present their recommendation for the eldership transition. The recommendation moves that First Baptist Church affirm the transition toward eldership which includes a year-long elder transition and constitution rewrite. The printed recommendation and subsequent details are published and ready for your viewing. You may obtain a copy today in the church office or you can find that document published in the annual meeting packet to be distributed in your wall box next Sunday.

Senior Adults will meet this Thursday, March 24 at 6:30 pm Join us!

 

MARRIAGE REFRESH

Our spring Marriage Refresh course is full! If you weren’t able to sign up for this 5-week course, don’t worry! We’ll offer the course again later this year. Just a reminder to the participants; the Marriage Refresh course will meet at 7 pm on the following Sunday nights:  March 22, April 12, 19 and 26, and May 3.

 

CAMP NIGHT AT AWANA APRIL 1

We will be having a special Camp Night on Wednesday, April 1 during Awana. Kids can find out about summer camps, 2015.

 

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE :: 7 PM

Don’t let this Easter season pass without taking steps in your faith. Our annual Good Friday service is a great opportunity for you to not only grow in your own love for Christ, but it also provides a place for you to invite a neighbor, classmate, or coworker. The Good Friday service will center on the theme of Christ emptying himself and will serve as a prelude to the Easter Sunday service and the empty tomb. The Good Friday service will begin at          7 pm, April 3 in the Family Center.

 

LARGE-PRINT DEVOTIONALS AVAILABLE

New Our Daily Bread large-print editions are now in the basket in the Family Center. They are for April, May and June, for you!

 

OUR SYMPATHIES EXTENDED

We grieve, but with hope, in the passing of long-time member Bob Holland, who left us on Sunday, March 15. His funeral was Thursday here at FBC. We continue our prayers of comfort for his wife Carmen and the Holland family.

Alisa Sand (nose surgery), Sandy Clement (broken hip), Ken Isebrand (now home), Bob Formanek (heart), Sarah Ham (cancer treatment), Chuck Erding (cancer treatment), Logan Johnson (eye recovery) and Becky Hagen (cancer treatment). At Nursing Homes:  Theresa Suby, Elaine Gapp, Lorraine Swanson and Dick Quayle; Jerry Tweeten is now at On With Life,  Brain Rehabilitation Facility in Ankeny.
